Br. in Authors of Plant Names) in The Genera of South African Flowering Plants 249. 1926, and that Kanchi Gandhi's 23 Sep 2006 explanatory remarks in the International Plant Names Index-Gray Card Index entry state: "N. E. Brown referred to the basionym indirectly (p. 241, nr. 2405 Mesembryanthemum: 'until recently the following genera have all been included under the one genus Mesembryanthemum'); Bolus (Fl. Pl. S. Afr. 7: ad t. 247. 1927) also made this comb. nov. (isonym)", so that the correct citation is (L.) N.E. Br., as indicated in this Index. Correspondence 1 also indicates that epithet of the The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1]1 synonym should be spelled "edule" to agree with the neuter gender of the genus name.[Therefore, spelling of epithet of The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1] synonym corrected to Mesembryanthemum edule L., from Mesembryanthemum edulis L. previously in this Index, 8 Nov 2007; author citation correct as indicated in this Index, 8 Nov 2007.] | |||||
