(Madrono, in press): NOTES: Previously confused with C. sepium subsp. limnophila (Greene) Brummitt, but readily distinguished by its larger flowers (5-7.5 cm), inflated bracteoles that hide the calyx, larger leaves, and glabrous vestiture. Sporadic but persistent in urban waste areas around Humboldt Bay.
Initial Editorial Comments would have been added if Calystegia silvatica subsp. disjuncta had been added; according to Source b, in California naturalized outside of wildlands, in places that seem not to qualify for inclusion in the flora according to criteria employed by Jepson Flora Project (13 Feb 2003).
