| Editorial Comments 2 | Correspondence 2 indicates that Greenhouse has discovered further information about the publication of Bromus japonicus in a Bartholomew, Nicolson & Nordenstam paper in Taxon (46:311--314. 1997) that allows expansion and correction of statements made in Correspondence 1; that Bartholomew, Nicolson & Nordenstam secured a translation of part of Murray's Latin preface which stated that he, Murray, published what Thunberg had written in a manuscript for Flora Japonica which was, at that time, unpublished; that Murray ascribed the entire protologue, not just the name, to "Thunb. jap. mspt. M.", and that the "M." merely meant that the name was new to edition 14 of Systema Vegetabilium [and evidently not that Murray should be the author of the name].
