Correspondence 1 7 Apr 2016 e-mail from Keir Morse, including forwarded emails from John Malpas see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 includes a statement from Keir Morse that reads, "I noticed Pentameris airoides ssp. airoides isn't in Jepson or Calflora. It looks like there are specimens going back to at least 2013. I'm currently doing rare plant surveys on Camp Pendleton and we have encountered it in a few locations along De Luz Creek. It appears to be coming in from north of the base (or it is spreading up creek), so there is probably more [in] that direction. My guess at this point is that it is more than a waif and probably naturalized. It would be good to get it in Jepson and Calflora just so people are aware that it is around. It's quite possible it is in many other areas and just being over looked." Keir also indicated that the taxon appears to be annual or mostly so, that he has used the common name "False Hair-grass" for it, and that he has posted photos of it at http://calphotos.berkeley.edu/cgi/img_query?where-taxon=Pentameris+airoides+ssp.+airoides&where-photographer=Keir+Morse.
