Perennial herb, stout, clumped, leafy; generally canescent or white-woolly. Stem: ± erect, 4–9 dm, hollow, sparsely hairy especially near base, ± red. Leaf: 3–15 cm; stipule sheaths present; leaflets 23–41, crowded, 5–30 mm, narrow. Inflorescence: flowers many, dense, overlapped, reflexed. Flower: petals green-white or cream, banner 7–10 mm, recurved ± 35°, keel 7.1–9.1 mm. Fruit: reflexed, 6–11 mm, 3.5–6 mm wide, ovate, ± inflated, papery, persistent, hairs 0 or sparse; stalk-like base 0; beak 5–8 mm, stiff, slender, hooked; chamber 1. [Online Interchange]
