Perennial herb, ± robust; ± glabrous. Stem: decumbent or ascending, 1–3 dm. Leaf: 5–15 cm; leaflets 7–21, 4–20 mm, ovate to ± round. Inflorescence: flowers 4–10, not crowded, spreading. Flower: calyx glabrous; corolla red-purple with white wing tips, or cream, or white drying cream, banner 16–23 mm, recurved ± 85°, keel 10–16.5 mm. Fruit: spreading or pendent; body 25–55 mm, 10–20 mm wide, widely ± ovate, bladdery, glabrous; stalk-like base 3.5–10 mm; chamber 1.
