Woody vine; hairs stellate.
Stem: juvenile stems climbing by aerial roots; flowering stems fewer, nonclimbing.
Leaf: simple, evergreen; generally lobed on juvenile stems; ± entire on flowering stems; stipules 0.
Fruit: berry, black [to yellow].
