Annual [per], scapose; hairs 0 or simple.
Leaf: basal rosetted, petioled, entire or dissected; cauline 0 or few, sessile, base not lobed.
Inflorescence: elongated.
Flower: sepals ascending to spreading, base not sac-like; petals white, equal or not, not clawed; stamens 4 or 6, filaments with white basal appendage.
Fruit: silicle, dehiscent, broadly cordate to round, flat perpendicular to septum, tip winged and shallowly notched, unsegmented; stigma entire.
Seed: 2–4, in 1 row, wingless.
