Mitthyridium subluteum - Specimen 430
Description

Collection locality: Taveuni Island, Fiji
Elevation: 166.6 meters
Substrate: At Bouma Falls, on tree, 90% shade, at 3rd fall

Collection information:
Wall 2798
Taveuni Island is the largest Eastern island and supports the highest density of forest cover per unit area. Much of the forest is primary or sccondary.

Bouma Falls is a pristine reserve on the North-Western corner of the island. The reserve is well kept with trails leading to 3 large waterfalls separated along a mountain side.

This specimen and clade (sister to m426 not featured in this phylomonograph, but closely resembling the present specimen and also from Fiji) closely resembles jungquilianum; in fact, they are extremely diffiult to distinguish from each other.

Genes sequenced:

This specimen was collected in Fiji. In general this clade, subluteum may be retricted to the Fijian islands, though analyses of more collections are needed to confirm that geographic distribution.
