Sonia Nosratinia
Sonia Nosratinia is the research associate and lab manager in Brent Mishler's Lab. After three years of offering part time research assistance to the Herbaria and the UCMP, now works full time on managing the Mishler lab, training new graduate students in molecular techniques and microscopy, and contributing to proposals,publications and presentation projects undertaken by some of the lab members.
Sonia's primary botanical interest is in paleobotany and specifically in looking at how plant life ends and begins again as it goes through extinctions in the history of earth. By gaining experience in molecular techniques, she intends to address her own questions using both plant fossil and genetic data.
