General Interests:
My research interests focus on the systematics of two families of mosses: the Thuidiaceae and the Leskeaceae. The goal of my research is to not only resolve the relationships of selected taxa within each family but to also more clearly define the limits each family. More generally, I am also interested in the process of character analysis and in methods that can allow one to 1) test the homology of characters, 2) assess their heritability, 3) determine whether they are (statistically) independent and 4) discretize continuously varying (morphological) characters.
