Adaptation is fundamental to Darwinian evolution, yet it is
difficult and sometimes controversial to document that a feature of
an organism is a product of adaptive evolution. In addition,
adaptation is understood in different ways by evolutionary
biologists working on different research questions. In this
Biosystematists' event, we will explore different approaches to
studying adaptation, and we hope to discuss whether a general
definition of adaptation is possible. Program organized by Nathan
Rank of Sonoma State University.
