While reviewing collections of Menodora spinescens, I noticed that Carl B. Wolf collected the species at a location described as, "Lakeview Service Station 1 mi s; e base of Ivanpah Mt. …" Annie Alexander and Louise Kellogg also collected here on May 17, 1940. The location as shown on a 1939 edition of a AAA highway map, is at the intersection of former Highways 91 and 466 with Nipton Road. The lake therefore that would be in view would be Ivanpah Dry Lake.
